Utility - Reindex
Menu Selection: Document - Utility - Reindex
Purpose
This document allows the user to reindex the LILAC database.
Prerequisites
You should do a back up of the database before attempting a reindex. Also there should be a need to do a reindex, such as downloading a new software release.
Context
Doing a reindex will compress the data file, and regenerate the B tree. A reindex should only be done after a back up, and only when instructed to by Lennox Computer staff.
About This Screen

| Key | No | Displays the reindex key. |
| Operator | Yes | Type in the name of the person doing the reindex. |
| Bytes | No | Displays the number of bytes in the database. |
| Records | No | Displays the number of records in the database. |
| Start | No | Displays the start time of the last reindex. |
| Finish | No | Displays the finish time of the last reindex. |
| Elapsed | No | Displays the elapsed time of the last reindex. |
| Last Reindex | No | Displays the date of the last reindex. |
Transaction Processing
| Button | Description |
| Reindex | Clicking the Reindex button performs the reindex, and notifies the user that the reindex is complete by way of a message box. |
