Menu Selection: Document - Send - Fax

Purpose

This document allows the user to create and send a fax.

Prerequisites

The name and address record to whom you wish to send a fax to must exist. The name and address record must contain the fax number in the Fax field. Fax Server must be installed and running. 

Context

Use this document to create and send a fax inside LILAC. You can attach a non LILAC document by using the Attach button. This will open a dialog box allowing you to browse for the file to attach. If a non LILAC document is attached, clicking the Fax button will cause Windows to render a BMP image of the document, and Fax Client will then be able to transmit the image to Fax Server which can then add it to the Fax queue. See Using Fax Client for more information on this.

About This Screen

Field Enterable? Instructions
User Yes Displays the currently signed in user.
Ref Yes Type in a reference number for this email.
Date Yes Type in the date the email was created or modified. This will automatically be set to the working date when the email is created.
Recipient Yes Type in the name address key (or click the right mouse button) and select the key from the list.
Attachments Yes Type in the full path for the non LILAC document you wish to fax, or use the Attach button to fill in this field for you, 
Text Yes Type in the body of the email.

Transaction Processing

Button Description
Fax Clicking the Fax button will cause the attachment to be rendered and faxed to the recipient.
Attach Clicking the Attach Button will open a dialog box allowing you to browse for the file to attach.

Once a document has been successfully added to the fax queue, you should check to make sure it has been sent.
