Purpose
This document allows the user to create and send an email.
Prerequisites
The name and address record to whom you wish to send an email to must exist. The name and address record must contain the email address in the Email field. The Mail Server field in company data must be set up with the SMTP server. The company name and address record must contain the reply to email address in the Email field.
Context
Use this document to create and send an email inside LILAC. It uses the Name and Address Master Records, so there is no need to maintain a separate email database. The only restriction is not being able to email attachments.
About This Screen

| Ref | Yes | Type in a reference number for this email. |
| Date | Yes | Type in the date the email was created or modified. This will automatically be set to the working date when the email is created. |
| Recipient | Yes | Type in the name address key (or click the right mouse button) and select the key from the list. |
| Text | Yes | Type in the body of the email. |
Transaction Processing
| Button | Description |
| Send | Clicking the Send button will send the email. If there are any errors with the company data set up you will be notified. If the email address you are sending to doesn't exist, a notification will be send to the company email address. |

Once the email is typed up, you can send it. Check the company email to make sure that there were no errors with sending the email. You can print out the email for future reference if needed.
