Purpose

This document provides the ability to define barcode formats for use with the barcode scanning features in LILAC.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to setting up barcode formats.

Context

Barcode formats should be established if you wish to use the barcode scanning features of LILAC. Some specialist programming may need to be done for different equipment, so be sure to contact Lennox Computer before purchasing any hardware.

LILAC supports both RF and computer attached scanners. The barcode formats established here, will work with both these methods of scanning.

About This Screen

Field Enterable? Instructions
Format Name Yes Type in the new barcode format key. Lennox Computer suggest using the format name as the key eg: EAN14 for a EAN barcode that has 14 digits.
Format No Yes Type in the format number. This field only supports one character, so once 1 to 9 have been used, you should use A to Z.
Bar Digits Yes Type in the total number of digits in the barcode. If Mobile Server is to be used for RF operations, the Bar Digits field must be unique i.e. no two barcodes can be the same length in the company.
Code Offset Yes Type in the offset of the first digit in the product code.
Code Size Yes Type in the number of digits that represent the product code in the barcode.
Weight Offset Yes Type in the offset of the first digit in the weight.

Date Offset Yes Type in the offset of the first digit in the date.
Date Size Yes Type in the number of digits that represent the date in the barcode.
Julian Date Yes Tick this field to use AFC Style Julian Dates, rather than traditional Julian Dates.

From Here

Once all the barcode formats are established in the system, and the part numbers are set up in the Product Master Record (Stock - Account), you will then be able to use barcode scanning if you have the necessary equipment.

You will also be able to product printed barcodes, provided 3 of 9 True Type Font is installed.
