Menu Selection: Document - General Ledger - Enquiry

Purpose

This document allows the user to examine the last page of transactions for an account.

Prerequisites

The account to be queried must exist. It can be created via the Documents - General Ledger - Chart of Accounts document.

Context

The General Ledger Enquiry program is available to look at recent transaction activity on any account in the LILAC 3 ledgers. It is a one page document and the Client/Server process invoked by clicking the Enquire button find a page full of the most recent transaction activity on the account with closing balances.

Use the General Ledger Enquiry to check upon the results of processing at the micro-level. i.e. individual transaction appended to individual accounts through-out the ledgers.

Clicking the Account> button will take you to the document where the account was created.

PAYROLL Payroll - Employee
WIP Job - Costing

About This Screen

Head of the Document
Field Enterable? Instructions
Ledger Yes Type in, or search for (using the F12 button), a main ledger key from the set BALANCE, DEBTORS, INVENTORY, PAYROLL, TRADING, WIP.
Account Yes Type in, or search for (using the F12 button), for a General Ledger Account.
Sub No Displays the key for a General Ledger Sub Account, where available.
Name No of entity

Lines of the Document
Date No Displays the date of the transaction.
Type No Displays the type of the original document.
Document No Displays the name of the original document.
Ref No Displays the reference number of the original document.
Quantity No Displays the quantity when relevant. For example if you are examining an INVENTORY account, the Quantity could be the amount sold to on a Tax Invoice.
Other Account No Displays the account for the other side of the transaction.
Detail No Displays a description of the transaction.
Debit No Displays the value debited on this transaction.
Credit No Displays the value credited on this transaction.
Balance No Displays a progressive balance for this account.

Transaction Processing

Button Description
Enquire Click the Enquire button to refresh the screen. 
Account> Clicking the Account> button will take you to the screen where the accounts were created. For example if the Ledger is set to DEBTORS then the account button will take you to the Debtors - Account document.
